Position Description: The Lead Hand will be responsible for supervising trade employees assigned to a particular construction discipline or work areas.
Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters, towers and other structures
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Clark Builders safety policies and procedures
Monitors storage of material, tools, and equipment - proper and secure.
Assigns tasks to workers according to their capabilities and training.
Identify hazards and correct any unsafe conditions
Participate in QA/QC checks and inspections
Lead site specific orientations and tailgate meetings
Other duties as required
Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner
Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures
Ensures use of proper PPE for workers performing tasks
Skills and Knowledge:
The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods. Manual dexterity, balance for working on scaffolding. To solve arithmetic problems quickly and accurately.
The ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints and communicate this information to others
Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
Conflict resolution
The capability to work outside in extreme weather conditions depending on the season
Qualifications:
Journeyperson trade certification
5-8 years of construction experience
Valid first aid certificate an asset
Valid Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset
